Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of FamInvite, the website and related services at this domain (“FamInvite”, “we”, “us”). By using FamInvite, including by booking through a link a family member sent you, you agree to these terms.

What FamInvite is

FamInvite provides a shared directory, calendar, and booking system for extended families and the places they share. It is invite-only. Access to a family group is granted by that group’s managers, and they decide who can see and edit its information.

Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least 18 to manage a group or approve bookings. Keep your email account secure: FamInvite signs you in by email, so anyone with access to your inbox can act as you. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Your content and your family’s content

You keep ownership of anything you add to FamInvite. You grant us the rights needed to store, display, and sync it as the service requires, for example to show a birthday to your family or write it to a Google Calendar you connect.

Because directories describe other people, you agree to add information about a relative only if you reasonably believe they would not object, and to remove it if they ask. Group managers are responsible for who they admit to a group.

Bookings

FamInvite records requests and decisions about shared places. It does not own or operate those places and is not a party to any agreement between family members about them. A confirmed booking is a record of your family’s decision, not a promise by us. Priority rules, approval, and cancellation are set by each group’s managers.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use FamInvite to harass, impersonate, or stalk anyone;
• add information about people you do not have a family connection to;
• attempt to access groups, bookings, or data you were not granted access to;
• use the public request form to send unsolicited email to others;
• interfere with the service, scrape it, or circumvent rate limits or security.

We may suspend or remove access, content, or groups that violate these terms.

Google Calendar sync

If you connect a Google account, you authorize FamInvite to create, update, and remove events in the calendar you select, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time. Your use of Google services is also subject to Google’s own terms.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, and is part of these terms.

Availability and changes

FamInvite is provided as is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that every record is error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FamInvite is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from decisions your family makes using information in FamInvite, including bookings. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, which for a free service is zero.

Termination

You can stop using FamInvite at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end or suspend access for violations of these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive, such as ownership and limitation of liability, do.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
